Asthma is a common childhood condition and one of the most common causes for childhood admissions to hospital. Medical understanding of underlying factors that trigger asthma symptoms has developed markedly, but the treatments with which we can try to prevent wheezing and asthma attacks remain largely ineffective.

Leading professor and Paediatric specialist Sejal Saglani will explore the importance of studying asthma and its causes in the very young in order to effectively tackle this debilitating disease in children.

Sejal will give insight into how her research and unique translational approach is supporting this vital work, uncovering the mechanisms that drive the disease in children and the progress made towards preventing, treading and curing asthma in the youngest patient groups.
